I repair recording equipment for the brief moment of bliss it gives me when they work again. Rather then breaking stuff just to fix it I sometimes buy things at junk shops. A recent purchase contained a Minnesota churches sound files.
Some of those files were an excellent group of Blue Grass classes.
Give it a listen and pretend you pulled over for driving directions and heard this.

This is an awesome find. Great stuff here.

This is something Monte would have loved (and probably gone into great detail about the mics and other equipment being used).

I clicked on YT for the first time in a while and it now thinks I'm bluegrass and strings oriented. Fortunately the first thing it showed me was previously unknown to me. Too bad it was past my time.

I just listened to this and I liked. It's like they all got to showcase their licks and were having fun. It's weird to hear those three Grisman songs in 73. They became staples of his Dawg music albums years later. And I had a big crush on Maria. I would've followed her to any oasis.
